Family Lifeways Camp
Your family can live like it was 200 years ago! This camp will provide families with the opportunity to observe and experience life the way it was prior to European contact in Alberta. It will include presentations and workshops with “hands-on” projects for the entire family. Camp projects may include hide tanning, pottery production and firing, games, story telling, flint-knapping, atlatl throwing, bow and arrow skills, and much more.
This camp will also includes an indoor-guided tour of the Bodo Archaeological Center where participants can step back in time as they walk through the many exhibits that feature interpretive displays and artifacts from the Bodo Archaeological Site and the surrounding area. Families will visit a working archaeological lab and talk to the archaeologists about the artifacts they have found. At the Bodo Archaeological Site families will observe an authentic archaeological excavation and discover the unique flora and fauna that make up the unique landscape of Bodo Sand Hills. This camp also includes a field trip to a bison rubbing stone.
